This station is in one of my favorite neighborhoods. It is accessible to all and has a lot of stairways to the street and platform. There are some really old signs which I'm confused is actually still there. It's cool to watch (M) and (R) trains terminating here. I also love the green color they use. Trains come by frequently.
It takes about 25 minutes to get for the E train to go from Roosevelt St to Forest Hills (1 stop in 1 burrough). For reference, it takes about 20 minutes to go from 14th St to Roosevelt (10 stops across 2 burroughs).
I'm no mathematician, but it would seem that maybe the MTA should take a look at the stretch of track between Roosevelt and Forest Hills. Or have a physicist take look, but it seems like spacetime is bending down there.
Homeless people have made their home on the station with their belongings and even their beds / mattresses laid out prior to getting to turn styles. Where is NYC Homeless services to help them?
Overrun by homeless but train service is fast and regular. No stores on-site (such as kiosks for magazines). Multiple entrances, though sometimes they are closed without notice.
Expect to see homeless and some dirtiness. It's not bad, really, serving as a transit center outside of the "city." Just be aware of your surroundings, as you would with everywhere else, but especially here. Crime isn't terrible in the neighborhood, but it has gone up.
The hub of the F, E, M, and R train. However this station being a hub always is full of shady characters and pretty dirty. It's also one of the hottest subway station I've ever been to during the summer.
This is a very good station in a great neighborhood with very good train service and the station is accessible.
This is definitely one if queens main train stations.not only for the E train M ,R & f trains ,you have midway movie theater right upstairs, you also have busy Austin street, one of queens nyc best shopping and restaurants streets ,that is located a block away.
Plus you have queens blvd right upstairs. With everything from restaurant to pharmacy, super markets as well.
The station itself is okay there is no escalators or elevators. And the station is some what clean. The E train runs Express the F takes you local.
Just transferring from F train to R/M train to 67th Ave. to go to LIJ Northwell Forest Hospital
A typical subway ride at 6am from Forest Hills 71st Ave
